Willy Merry, also known as Alexandre Joseph, is a self-taught artist-illustrator from Paris, France.
His creations are visual compositions that can be defined as thoughts, stories about the human condition. Alongside painting a tragic and symbolic imaginary world, they introduce childlike characters in the grip of essential choices towards their existence. The use of a simple color panel gives the paintings an intense yet pure feeling which molds the identity of the characters.
His work and his constant will to learn have brought him to many countries around the world, including Japan where he settled for more than two years.
